AISI D2 is a high carbon and high chrome alloy steel. After heat treatment, it will have high hardness, good wear-resistance. High strength, good machinability, good toughness, strong hardenability, good size stability and excellent resistance to tempering softening etc.
D2 tool steel is used for making various high precision, long working life cold work mould, cutting tool and measuring tool, like: complicated piercing die, cold extrusion mould, cylindrical die roll, screw thread rolling plate, cold work scissor.
